About Us

Founded in 1894, YWCA GLA’s mission is the elimination of racism and empowering women. YWCA GLA provides services through equity program pillars including Early Care and Education, Senior Engagement Services and Sexual Assault Crisis Services, in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

The YWCA GLA is the owner and operator of seven Empowerment Centers throughout LA County. In addition, it provides services at five satellite offices; these combined sites touch over 100,000 individuals and families. YWCA GLA is an equal opportunity employer.

    YWCA is dedicated to eliminate racism, empower women. We also believe in promoting peace, social justice, racial justice, freedom and dignity for all. This YWCA mission statement was adopted by the General Assembly in 2009.

    Our Locations

    YWCA Greater Los Angeles provides services from seven Empowerment Centers, including: Urban Campus Youth Empowerment Center in Downtown Los Angeles, Supervisor Gloria Molina Community Empowerment Center in Walnut Park, Union Pacific, Hollywood Studio Club, Angeles Mesa, North Valley, and Compton. YWCA GLA also provides services at 5 satellite locations including: South Bay, Osborne, USC, Cerritos College and North Valley Infant Learning Center, in compliance with regulations prohibiting unlawful discrimination. Sexual orientation and veteran status is also a protected characteristic under our anti-discrimination policies.
